Ron Exler is Distinguished Analyst with Saugatuck Technology, with a focus on the disruptive and progressive influences on businesses of location-based services, big data, and predictive analytics.
Previously, Ron helped grow technology companies with his work in product marketing, market research, and analyst relations. He has recognized trends in IT to position businesses as global technology market leaders. As a vendor and analyst, he’s worked with hundreds of vendors to develop and execute sales/marketing strategies, product roadmaps, profit and loss analyses, and pricing plans.
Ron recently assisted a global provider of Customer and Operational Business Analytics for telecommunications carriers to assess its big data market and provide competitive and SWOT analyses for potential new markets. At Nielsen Audio (formerly Arbitron), Ron was lead for a cross-platform audience measurement service and liaison to research executives and their staff in large corporations including CBS, NBC, and Turner Broadcasting.
At Robert Frances Group, an advisory firm for IT executives, Ron was Director of Research and then Vice President and Research Fellow. He was responsible for the practices and research involving Application Lifecycle Management, Geographic Information Systems, Legacy Modernization, Enterprise Feedback Management, IT Governance, IT Regulations, and Asset Management.
Ron holds a Master of Science, Cartography from the University of Wisconsin and a Bachelor of Science, Geography from Oregon State University
